Mine is old enough that it is standard USB and it works fine.

New gadget for riding, A Garmin 310XT with heart monitor. I been playing with various GPS and finally settled on the 310 and it came in handy today. Midway through the ride, with wind at 6, two crew pounced. Got back to them when one stopped to pee. Now I know protocol says you don't take advantage of the situation but they showed no concern about my 40 lb bike and thoroughly enjoyed me pulling them for 5 miles...soooo when asked if I was gonna wait, the reply came back F**K Y*U. Yes they were gonna catch me, but I made them work for it. Got well ahead and being in a new place Had no idea where the turn was. Scrolled to the map feature and zoomed in on the track. Left turn in .5 mile. Cool, gadget just paid for itself. Stayed ahead for 3 miles when one announced on the wheel and complained that he had to average 19 to catch me.
Seeing my heart rate was interesting. At fifteen it was pumping at 128 and and pushing against the wind at 18 its showed 158. Ran out of breath before my legs did. Highest was 183, but that was at the beginning of the ride. Generally stayed between 125 and 148 and managed to pull 21 when the wind was at 6.
Averaged 14.4 and will have my Roadie back for the LBS tomorrow.

I have a Garmin Forerunner 305 and use it for all of my runs and rides. Too bad it won't work in the water at the pool to give me an idea of my heartrate, because I hate to stop in the middle of a 2 mile swim to check my heart rate.
