Mike this is the Carbon effect ABS sheet the kit car guys use

The only drawback is the place in the UK dont do it in big sheets but i guess some platic manufacturer might.

Mike
At work we use a lot of vac bagged pre-preg carbon. Perfect if you want to spend a huge amount of money.

I need a new Avatar. I'd put my dog up there but she doesn't look much like me. She's the skinny one.

With carbon weave, do you use the same type of resin as with Fiberglas?

And is the process the same, put down resin, lay carbon on top and apply more resin and squeegee it in to remove air?

wonder how you see trapped air if it is black...

best to use exp y it bonds has to have high heat to cure right if not it just incapable the carbon best with preprages the way we do if not using preprages is dry bag that way you can keep it strait then use vacuum infused resin. if you have a lot of help you can lay down and wet out but it will not be strait better Chance it will be a big mess
It is not the return ON my investment that I am concerned about; it is the return OF my investment

We use epoxy on both fiberglass and carbon. If carbon we normally vac bag it with plastic to press the layers together. In situations where the part has to be extremely light or pretty we use pre-preg carbon. The correct amount of resin is in the cloth. It is stored in freezers until used. It is cut and layered in the mold and then vac bagged until it cures in a large oven. Beautiful finish, extremely light, very expensive.
