I've put a lot of thought in how I might attach a changing room or even sew up a modification to some different tents I have so that they might attach to the side of the TD. But, my experience with wind in Oklahoma always come back to the same thing..... I don't want anything attached to the TD since its probably going to pull out screws and everything else attaching it.
I remember one late November deer hunting trip to western Oklahoma with a pop-up tent trailer we had at the time. We arrived on a beautiful Friday afternoon with temps in the 50's & not a cloud in the sky. We set up and attached the canvas side awning to the popup and staked everything down. During the night, things changed to a howling wind and blizzard conditions, the thermometer showing 15 degrees. The wind blew the canvas to the point that the screws attaching the rail on the side of the trailer were literally pulled out, the canvas ripped and the poles flat on the ground. I hate the thought of that happening to my new TD and the gouges the poles would make to the walls when they went down.
The problem for me is, this kind of wind and weather change in my area is not all that unusual. Sorry for the long explanation, but here is my simple and cheap solution:
