Hello from Arizona!

We bought our first teardrop yesterday - a custom built "woody". I didn't want to lurk since I read the Forum/Moderator rules and REALLY liked what I saw. There seems to be a nice bunch of folks here; fun loving and free spirited.

We look forward to meeting some of you here and out there in the coming years.

Welcome!! I'm a newbie myself. TDs invoke a madness from which there is no escape. The only solution is to post pictures.. lots of pictures. This helps spread the madness evenly over the internet.

Hugs,
Ratkity

Momma took the first pic yesterday and sent it to me a few minutes ago. It is in the 1st post above.

What I would like to know is: do any of you recognize this logo/banner on the back of it?

Welcome from a fellow Arizonian.

Looking at your avatar, it's easy to see you go your own way. As if having an awesome woody teardrop isn't unique enough, the motorcycle sidecar is ultra unique and puts the exclamation point on cool.

Hello Scott, we pull this 'drop' with a CRD (diesel Libby). I see you like the Jeep brand, too! As for unique: We run errands, give the grandkids rides and look at Christmas lights in the 1939 flathead BMW R-71/hack. We even took the Dobies for a few rides in one of them.

Yeah, emiller, I saw a pic of one in the Rayme link while I was still looking around on the weblinks. Ours has the RBB sides as opposed to the flat panels, but it also has the outline of decal/sticker on the lower left and aft corner that said: www.roundup.net.

Looks like you hit the nail on the head. Thank you for the help.

Ratkity, not to break the spirit, but the one in the photo was humanely euthanized a few months ago. My 'Buddy Dog' or Russ-Mutt (as we affectionately knew him - Rustic Braveheart Ch.) was from a Champion bloodline and developed fatty tumors that encroached on his lungs. We spent $$$$ on multiple ops to keep him in the 'family', but alas, it was not meant to be. I cried for 6 hours as I lay next to him before we made the decision. I miss him dearly. My one regret is that I never gave him a ride in the newest hack. He SOOOOOOOOOOOO enjoyed the 1st one.

Now, we have Schnauzers and chickens!

So, what's the 'fuzzy' you have there? More than one? Is Ratkity the name?

Sorry to hear of your furkid loss, Scott.

Alas, I lost my dear evil Ratkity last week. She was a 16 yr old tortishell and absolutely hated everyone, but me. After 6 months of fluids 2x a week, her feet started to bleed because of neoplastic tumors going to her toes. She wouldn't eat anything, except frisky's gravy. The last week she wouldn't eat at all. It was time, just like yours. I bawled all week long. She had a wonderful last day outside in the sun while ignoring a mockingbird that was fussing at her.

I also have 2 goofy golden retrievers (Buffy and Charley) and an Orange-winged Amazon parrot. All rescues. As of today, I have a new kitty in the house. He's an older boy (maybe 3 yrs?) and his name is Boss. Charley w00fed at him and he's been hiding under the table since. The dogs are outside and I'm coaxing Boss out with treats. Wish me luck!

The goldens went on their first TD camping trip last week. They were typical dogs, but seemed to enjoy themselves. Next week we are going to another place that won't have campers so close together.

Hugs,
Ratkity

Thank you ALL for the nice welcome! We have researched and planned and are just SOOOOO thrilled about our little TD. We could easily use it 'as is', but are starting to set it up with our personal touches. We already have most of the 'stuff', as we have been avid motorcycle campers for the last 10 years. Now there's learning experience!

It was time to move up in the world, however, one stipulation was: it had to fit in the garage. Well, it does and we are starting to outfit it with some of the niceties we have accrued from our years of hiking and camping.

It seems we are lacking NOTHING at this point.

:woohoo:

Thanks, hiker chick. We haven't even hit the trail yet and I absolutely adore the camaraderie being felt just on the forum alone! These folks are great.

What inspired me was a bike trip and staying at a KOA in Winslow, AZ a few years ago. Some folks were there in a teardrop and were very sociable. Our Kamping Kabin porch faced their general direction. I was SOOOO impressed with the TD they had AND with their demeanor. Nice people with a love of camping.
