Todays finds...

Postby rainjer » Sat Jun 05, 2010 1:02 pm

I hit the swap meet today and 1 garage sale. I found the 2 gallons of fuel and the lantern on the left for $3.00 at the garage. The lantern has a sunshine globe. The lantern on the right was $8 at the swap meet. The interesting thing is both collars are stamped 220E. The lantern on the left is 8/57 & the right is 6/63.

Nice!

I've got a thing for stuff made in '63 (although my birth year is earlier than that).

Let's hope the fuel isn't that old!

 :dancing

According to the guys on the Coleman forum, I have a "transition" lantern. It is a mix if 220E & 220F parts made at the factory. It has a 220E vent and a 220F collar but it is marked "220E". Also the decal is in the 220F position.

I did a gentle cleaning and put it away on my display shelf.

Thanks!

I guess if one is going to have four (different) lanterns, those four are good ones!

I really like that 202... I gotta find one sometime.

Thanks again, Jeremy!

I'm a newbie at collecting the "vintage" stuff...I'll git a loist goin today with the model #s and YOMs...but I have a 1965 all aluminum camp stove,2 burner...it has the now banned fuel cylinders...also bought a lanturn...same year and fuel... with spare parts.
My latest find is a 1959 vintage ,dual mantle lanturn in seemingly perfect condition.

Like most of ya...I"M HOOKED now

Hey Canned.. you can convert the aluminum stove if you want, I did my all aluminum "picnic stove" also from the mid 60's. Thread explaining how is here.

I'm using the stove every camping trip! I love the uniqueness.

I'm a "stickler' fer keepin thangs "original"...if I git another one...I might convert it . Thanx I know I can always count on my friends here to help me out.

Much like my VW addiction, this new one is gonna be FUN !

I do a LOTTA car shows and I have 30 different themes that I use with the car and my Teardrop. Imagine what a vintage COLEMAN theme would look like ? I'm well on my way to theme # 31...

Now I gotta git sum info on these lanturns so I can USE em...I've never used one and wanna be sure that it is SAFE to use . All in due time and I'm not in any hurry. DISPLAY is a good thing !

BTW...I already saw yer post about the conversion...great piece of info that I can look to when I convert one..Thanx !
