20 Worst Beverages for your Health...

Postby caseydog » Wed Jul 21, 2010 1:03 pm

When I was a kid, sodas and milkshakes were occasional treats, and now we drink them daily. I just read a very enlightening article on the beverages we drink, and was amazed at just how unhealthy they are.

Here is a link to a slide show of the worst of the worst. I really like how they illustrate how bad they are by showing the equivalent foods to those beverages. Seeing a Green Tea beverage next to it's equivalent, half of a cherry pie, is quite an eye-opener.

Good thing I don't drink any of those, I'm fat enough as it is (as I sit here eating M&Ms). Heck, I haven't even heard of most of them.

The Krispy Kreme Lemon Sherbet Chiller did sound good though...

More media hype, look at the quantities and that will tell you why they are so bad. They should compare equal quantities to make it a more useful article. Look at #2 and #3 (#1 must really be that bad) #3 McDonald's shake is a 32oz shake and the #2 Smoothie King Smoothie is 40oz. That's a lot of anything for a person to put down in a sitting. Sonic sells Route 44 drinks but I'm pretty sure 1/2 of it is ice.

Plus I'm suprised that Big Red isn't in the lineup.

I wonder how many servings of banana pudding is equal to one Big Red.

I don't know Dog. It seems that you are currently the most qualified to answer that question

WOW, if following a 2000 callory diet, the Cold Stone PB&C (24 oz) will cover you for the entire day and then some.

Last time I went out for Pizza this mother had her fatter then hell 6 or 7 year old daughter with her. She took her to the salad bar and the little girl put cheese, crutons, and peperoni on her plate (no salad) and proceded to pour ranch dressing all over it. A few weeks later, same mother, same fat as hell girl at subway, this time she got a foot long feast (7 kinds of meet), extra bacon, extra cheese, extra mayo, no vegies. But lets blame the restaraunts for fat children.

At least I got fat on Beer back in college. What will happen when these morbidly obese children hit college age and start chugging down beer on top of thier horrible eating habbits?

DIY sun tea. Add a little maple syrup and lemon or lime.

Just say no to drugs. (Read the labels on bottled drinks.)

Don't drink any of those........yuck! I limit my poisons to Classic Coke, cranberry juice (to avoid the kidney stones from the CC) and water...mostly from my well!
