I ordered a windows of Ebay, it's used but in good shape and nice for 65$

It's in quite large at 26x42 :

I was wondering if anybody installed such a large window and whether that was a cause for concern / bad idea (my wall is 10'x5')

Also the clamp is for the right width but not sure how to mount the window exactly, are there instructions around ... i think i need mounting tape ?

 you do need tape or tube type sealer. I did mine with a very close cutout and a trim ring. MJ screws his right on......

I did take the time to epoxy a few times the edges and varnish before putting it in.

Did it come with the screws?

An RV place should be able to either sell you a mount kit, which has the putty tape and screws, or just a roll of putty tape if you have the screws.

I agree with Miriam, seal the edges of the opening before you mount the window.

Just use it as a door...

Check my thread, I have a 48" window in my little 4X8. I screwed from the outside and used butyl tape to seal, then also siliconed it. No leaks, and provides a great cross draft! Mine is mounted so the bottom is just inches above the surface of my mattress, when my ceiling fan is on it draws a nice breeze across most of my body.

You can see it in my signature pic below.

We have a large window in ours as well.
We opted for a large egress window instead of a second door.
Our window is hinged at the top, the entire window swings out when open.
It provides nice air circulation.

We screwed ours in place from the outside. I have used butyl tape and sealant on previous builds. I prefer sealant.

the best way is to use Sikaflex- 292.. it's a caulking/sealant and an adhesive.. you can install the window with no screws or trim ring. it will not leak or come out until you want it to.. butyl tape is crap..
