Where to get a cheap 1' x 4.5' water tank?

Postby misterW » Wed Sep 01, 2010 4:13 pm

New or used, I'm just looking to spend as little as I can on a 1'x~4.5' water tank (must be less than 4'8" long to fit in trailer)

...any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Some days all you can do is smile and wait for some kind soul to come along and pull your ass out the bind you've gotten yourself into.

I used a water jug, the kind that are turned upside down and used in offices.

I chose a tube of a similar diameter as the hole on the top of the jug and pump the water out with the faucet.

When empty I refill it a few times until it gets funky then trade it in for a fresh jug with water in it.

On the other end, whatever goes down the drain ends up in one of those square fresh water RV tanks under the bed.

What was supposed to be a fill tube I used for draining. I attached a U shaped radiator hose to it to get under the floor. Once under the floor I switched to 1 1/2" PVC with a ball valve and hose adapter at the end.

There were a couple of other places to attach tubes. One was intended for the water supply to the faucets, but I used it to drain the sink into the tank. The other was very small but worked perfectly as a breather.
