Designing a Puffie Standie?

When I get back this weekend I think I'll try a Puffin Standy with a Galley, just to see what it looks like...

I'll be watching with great interest. I'd really like to build a standie that can accomodate me while still being no more than 13 ft long. (I'm 6'4") I'm thinking 80" wide (so I can have a 78" matress sideways) and 76" standing height somewhere inside, preferably near the front door. A fat Puffin might just be the ticket!

Okay, so I have a little bit of time this evening. Lets play with the Puffin Standie!!!

I reviewed the entire thread, and I realized what the problem was. We are not in Kansas anymore. I.e. the Harbor Freight 4x8 trailer doesn't work for a Puffin Standie with all the features we all want.

So off to harbor freight we go. Ah... here's a nice 5x8 trailer we can use. Don't know what the price is, because the HF website is having problems.

So onto the next step. What do we build on top of the HF 5x8? I'm thinking we stretch it out a little bit, to 9'3", similar to what I did on the Escape Hatch.

Then we build a box that lets the average person stand up in there. How does 72" of headroom sound? Sorry, you really tall guys will have to slouch!

Okay, on the the bed. We learned back in the early days that a 45" wide bed doesn't work well for many couples. So lets get a queen sized mattress in there. Got it! So the body of the trailer is approx. 78" wide by 120" long x 84" high.

Am I on the right track?

In the front we can put a table. Facing the door we can do either a bathroom or a stove/sink combo.

What do you guys think?
