Tiny Cargo trailer conversion...???

More fine tuning the layout ... With so little room , I need to plan this carefully ... Going to have to use tiny stuff..

Well, tomorrow's the day... hopefully !!! I get to pick up the tiny trailer , make my deal ...
Sure hope my order of Spic n'Span comes in ... Thinking I'll need it to get the crud off so we can give it a thorough analysis , top bottom and inside , wheels/bearings ...
Been accumulating all my small gear while waiting ... Got wood, paint , etc. !!! Ready to go !!!! Getting Excited now !!!!

T&M , if everything goes as planned , it shouldn't take more than a week or two to whip it into shape ... probably going to have to insulate (guessing from the slight sag in the roof ) Biggest thing will be cleaning and checking the wheel bearings ... With any luck everything will be OK ... Crossing my fingers... !!


Spic and Span came in ... from Amazon .... added up to $26.24 for two smallish 27 oz. boxes... That works out to $13.12 for a two dollar box of suds .... grrrrrrrr!!!!!!!! ... and that was with free shipping ... and I didn't even get a kiss or dinner...

Did I miss something in your thread? What's with the Spic & Span? Is it some secret formula for cleaning CT exteriors or some such?

Don , it works very well for cleaning nasty stuff ... But it used to be cheap ... along with everything else ... Now it seems pricy , and we'll see if it cleans the way it used to ...

Yesterday was supposed to be the pick up day for the CT .... Just couldn't get in touch with the guy , just got his answer machine... Will try again today ... Still great weather for washing trailers ...

Finally contacted the trailer owner... a musician , was "on the road".. too busy until next week to meet and make our "deal".... grrrrrr!!!

Pick up some tri sodium phosphate at the paint store. It is used for pre washing walls prior to painting. We used it in disaster restoration after fire and smoke damage in the cleaning business. The phosphate ban 20 years ago took it out of almost all commonly available detergent. Use as directed or add to your soap of choice.

Also those impossible tree sap stains etc. will surcome to Westley's whitewall cleaner used with a medium bristle scrub brush.

For tree sap, hardened duct tape residue, even labels that don't want to peel off, etc., I use Goop hand cleaner (without pumice). Leave it on for an hour. Scrap it off with a plastic spatula. Second coat as needed. Wipe with a wet rag, dry and the surface is ready to paint.

PG, That's the plan ... probably just a small tarp on some hooks ... nothing too fancy !!! Got some old tent poles and stakes for the outside of the awning ...
Still gathering all my stuff , now all I need is the Trailer ... Got everything else !!!

I use a product at work called "Fastball" to remove the black streaks and grime off enclosed trailers. Works well, spray it on, leave it for 10-15 seconds and then scrub off with a wash brush. Only thing....important thing....don't leave it on too long or it will take the paint off the aluminum. We have also heard some folks use a product that was designed for aluminum gutters...spray on leave then spray off. I haven't use the gutter cleaner though. Hope this may help
