Welcome to the Forum! Do you plan to buy or build? Either way, there's a wealth of information here for you to use for research.
Good luck on your way to teardrop ownership.

I just looked at a map, and Manitoulin Island looks like it's in the South of Ontario? At least, it looks like there is a lot more Ontario to the North.

I know most Canadians live within 50 miles of the US border, but I don't know how far north the northernmost settlements are. I prefer it toasty, like we have here in Phoenix. Several thousand Canadians agree, because I see their license plates all winter.
Hay Cliff I Am going there next week some time to do some soil testing . they are closed at this time they are doing some new septic system along with replacing some of the services. water stations, pumps that kind of thing . I haven't really looked at the site plan just glanced at it but from the looks of it I see showers and new rest rooms as well as more camp sites .I must say as a child we went camping all over that area with the grandparents picnic's and family reunions . I remember going through the wounder land of rocks and even a rocker canyon picnic And I don't think I had ever seen that area for camping there as we camped in turkey creek area just south of there . I was quite amazed at the site . as you mentioned I believe it is kind of tough to find a spot and that would be why the uncles don't go there living in douglas that is whare they go all the time .I would like to go with out the big family someday so I can find a spot with out looking for more than 2 over there . We got the last campsite on a Thursday night. It got down to 27º F at night, but the days were stellar!
