Hi Clipper,
Welcome to the Forum! Do you plan to buy or build? Either way, there's a wealth of information here for you to use for research.
Good luck on your way to teardrop ownership.

Hi; thanks for the welcome!
Buy is my choice. It would be nice to take on a project but I would still have to call in someone to help with the finish.
Regards
C.S.

Welcome from Phoenix, AZ.

I just looked at a map, and Manitoulin Island looks like it's in the South of Ontario? At least, it looks like there is a lot more Ontario to the North.

Hi;
I know, but because the majority of Ontarions live south of Parry Sound everything north of that is considered N.Ontario.
I guess to be more accurate I should have said Central Ontario

I worked with a French Canadian who couldn't pronounce Clifford hence Clipper and for some reason these names stay with you.

Hey, Cliff, nice to meet you. I believe there are now 4 active Cliffs on this forum. :thumbsup:

I know most Canadians live within 50 miles of the US border, but I don't know how far north the northernmost settlements are. I prefer it toasty, like we have here in Phoenix. Several thousand Canadians agree, because I see their license plates all winter. :D

Hi Cliff;
not to many Cliffords around but my Father-in-law and an Uncle were Cliffords, might be a record for 1 family.
Your right about the 50 miles, all along the entire Trans Canada Highway if you started walking north you may not see another soul until Northern Russia.
I wish we lived closer to the warmer weather, but we're hoping in the near future to travel south for a few weeks to escape the coldest months.
We have a few few trips planned thanks to Jamie Jensens "Road Trip USA" for south of the border and one of those will see us from Jasper National Park following Hwy 93 to Tucson.
Regards
Clipper S.

Well, when you head to Tucson, give a shout!

One of the most beautiful plases in the Southwest is Chiricahua National Monument, Southeast of Tucson about 120 miles. :thumbsup:

Gina and I love to camp there!

Is that Bonita Canyon CG? Also mentioned in the travel guide was Cave Creek just over in the Coronado NF south of Portal, have you camped there?

Yes, Bonita Canyon. I don't believe you can camp at Cave Creek Ranch.

Here's a few teasers.

Cool place I can hardly wait, Campsites not wide but they look level and with privacy, we like that. Most places especially the private CG's they pile ya in like sardines. We prefer Prov/State and NP's and the views are priceless.

There's only 25 campsites, and they don't take reservations. We camp there in winter, 'cause there isn't as much competition. These photos were from 2 years ago February. We got the last campsite on a Thursday night. It got down to 27º F at night, but the days were stellar!

Hay Cliff I Am going there next week some time to do some soil testing . they are closed at this time they are doing some new septic system along with replacing some of the services. water stations, pumps that kind of thing . I haven't really looked at the site plan just glanced at it but from the looks of it I see showers and new rest rooms as well as more camp sites .I must say as a child we went camping all over that area with the grandparents picnic's and family reunions . I remember going through the wounder land of rocks and even a rocker canyon picnic And I don't think I had ever seen that area for camping there as we camped in turkey creek area just south of there . I was quite amazed at the site . as you mentioned I believe it is kind of tough to find a spot and that would be why the uncles don't go there living in douglas that is whare they go all the time .I would like to go with out the big family someday so I can find a spot with out looking for more than 2 over there .
