Hi Everyone:

My name is Jeff Gibson, aka gibby and am obviously new to the site. I discovered your awesome site while researching the how to's of teardrop building. I have been considering building a teardrop for a couple years, which sounds familiar, no doubt.

Now that my wife Sherri and I are empty nesters as they say, we need to find something to do without our kids. While our daughters were young (and us) we enjoyed tent camping, canoeing and many other outdoor activities. So now that much our "disposable" and other income is equally allottted to two universities, we need a budget minded pursuit.

After seeing many of the elaborate teradrops on this site, I am not so sure it is so budget conscious :-) . As it is with many or becomes with most "hobby" pursuits.

Thanks in advance to all who have contributed to this forum and I look forward to meeting many of you in the coming months.

Hello Gibby,

the great thing about building it yourself is that you can control how elaborate you want it to be. I find myself in the exact same situation when it comes to paying two tuitions and I still have one to go.

I'm planning on staying fairly close to basic, but also plan to build enough versatility into it so that i can expand as I have the time, desire and money.
