Thanks for the good ideas! I will not be using any type of soft cover at all, period, it is going to be fully enclosed and protected one way or another.
Maybe I should clarify some more, a picture is worth a thousand words:
The driveway already has a twp spot carport, but I have two cars and a truck! I am going to have to park the truck at their outdoor RV storage section of the park until the Monte Carlo is finished then move the truck to the driveway after I sell the Town car. I thought about just keeping the truck in their outside storage and putting the teardrop up front like you guys are thinking, but I do not think I can fully enclose it on all four sides, and even three sides enclosed is not good enough for the teardrop, not to mention probably wouldn't look very good even if I was allowed. I guess I could ask though.
I can't "build" a major structure in the side yard, the best I can get away with is something that looks like a shed, even though obviously a standard shed is too small, but actually.... it is not too small, it is just too short... so maybe I could take the existing shed and add a section to the middle of it? Something like Mary K's might be do able too...
Maybe I could build a shelter in the RV storage section of the park too? I would think that as long as it was removable or I tell her she can have it when I move if I sink posts, it might be ok. I will ask the manager about that because I would like to make this shed into a small woodshop.
If anyone wants a little background... The grand plan is living out in the woods, I just can't afford to buy and clear land while living in my existing house. This place will be FULLY paid for in 2 years which is the only reason I am taking this step. So I plan on being here for 2 years until I have land in place and ready for a house to be put on it. I am looking to buy the land with the proceeds from selling my house and spend the next couple years slowly clearing a path through the woods and having the septic, water and elec setup. then when everything is ready, at that time everything will be paid for, and I can move this place out to the land and live in it while I build an A-Frame over the following couple of years, and then I can sell the mobile home or move it to the front of the land and rent it out. That my friends is a five year plan to retirement and financial freedom!
Now where am I going to put the cabin in my backyard? That is a whole different problem!!! This is going to be my new woodshop once I get the land, and it will serve as a real cabin in the woods until I move out there.
