Paint question

Postby Jusso » Mon Feb 14, 2011 9:19 pm

Has anyone painted latex paint over polyurethane before?

My idea was that to seal the outside with the polyurethane and then paint over the top with exterior grade gloss latex paint.

Any thoughts?

It should be fine as long as the urethane isn't perfectly smooth. You may want to give it a light sanding with 80 grit paper so the latex can "bite" into it. Also make sure the urethane has PLENTY of time to cure!
