At the last ITG, a few people asked me for some tips on something fun to check out on the way home. I thought I would put together a small guide to show some of my favorite places in the state. Of course I want you to spend ALL the time you can at the ITG

, but here’s a couple places I have enjoyed in the past that could give you something to do if you have some extra traveling time on your way to or from Minden..
If you are coming in from the East.
http://www.sasmuseum.com/ The Strategic Air Command Museum located in Ashland, just off I-80. When you walk in the door, there is an SR-71 Blackbird mounted up in the air kinda pointing your way, that’s worth the price of admission right there.

Don’t just stand there drooling and daydreaming while viewing the SR-71, go ahead and get a ticket and go in. There are dozens of other planes. All indoors, can’t miss it. They have traveling displays all the time, last time I was there it was a period correct Korean MASH unit all set up. SAC also had a cutaway of an aircraft engine from WW2. I stood there and looked at how it all worked and was amazed of what people could make before there was CAD and CNC machining.
Across the way from that is the “Wildlife Safariâ€
