Know how I live. I have windows on my teardrop.

Simple. just open one.

Subject cured. NO panicing, your not going to die in a teardrop.

Slow.

Read the original post again Slow, along with mine. He said NO vent and NO windows. I said you would die if you were in a sealed teardrop with NO ventilation.

You are not dead because you have windows and you open one.

Thanks Guys!
We are doing windows...
The whole choking to death thing was easy to fix...
But the wife put her foot down with the threat of her knitting getting wet.
Windows for the WIN.

You wear a kilt in your avatar pic, and your wife is concerned for her knitting getting wet. That sounds so much like this house I had to double check to make sure I hadn't created a new account and posted this in my sleep...

EDIT: My avatar is me in my Prince Charlie jacket and Lindsay tartan at my daughter's wedding. So far that's the only tartan I have, but I've been thinking about a Black Watch kilt for formal occasions.

NICE! For events I wear a cheap-o $30 Black Wallace kilt because it's what the entire unit wears. But my personal Kilts include: Hunting Mc Fairlane, Ayres and Tweedshire.

I don't have a kilt (yet) but I do know about the knitting stuff. My wife is addicted to yarn

Crochet at my house. When she has the Crochet hook in her hands, she's happy. I'll keep her in yarn as long as she wants.

It's Utilikilts for me too, this one is a bit worn but is my favorite of the bunch.

I like the look of the Utilikilts but they are way overpriced.

Yes, kilts rock.

Here is a link for instructions on making utility kilts. The wife is making some for us this summer... I think 4 for me, 2 for her and 1 for son. The hard part is the pockets.

Oh, you must click the link cause I'm slightly paranoid, it comes from my personal stash of web info and you can't find it in a search... only through the link. But feel free to pass the link out!

Yes, he's making me the camper. So the trade-off was the kilts and a Celtic Sweater.

I didn't mean to turn this into a kilt thread - sorry for the hijack.

I think that you and my wife would not only hit it off, Mommypossum, I think you'd be thick as thieves very quickly. She knitted me an aran (Irish fisherman's sweater) a few years back, and I love it. She's currently spinning up some gray alpaca to knit me some new kilt hose, and I can't wait to get them.

Here's a set of kilt hose she knitted for her bagpipe instructor. In this pic she has 15 knitting needles going at once to make the basket weave pattern on the tops:

The basket weave hose tops:

And the finished kilt hose:

I'm asking for the same tops, but different cabling on the sides.

As for kilts, I'm not much for the utilikilt. I know some folks like them, but I prefer me good ol' tartan. Speaking of which, remember that Tartan Day is next Wednesday! Wear yer colors proudly laddies and lassies!

back to the topic.... why do you think you need to make it so sealed up?

at 40 degrees with my 8yo grandson and my 13 pount rat terrier (or rat terror) we were plenty warm in fact i had to kick the blanket off. and that was with my roof vent opened about 2 inches.
if you build any sort of good, rain won't get you wet. condensation from breathing and general humidity is more of a problem. besides , your camping,,, you want fresh air.

if its her knitting, gallon size ziplock bags are what my knit wit of a wife uses.
as she always says, "carp e yarnum"

well she say's more,,,, about me anyway,,, but i digress.

Well I was just trying to keep the water out... I figured it would keep out the breeze too.

At Dusty82....I love those. Would she share the pattern? I've never knitted with that many needles, but I love a challenge!

@ John Warren Tell the misses that I love the gallon ziplock idea. Been doing it for years. even in my knitting bag. It keeps your work from snagging up on things. But tell her thank you for the advice anyways. Us knit wits rock!

Here's the link to the sweater that I'm making for John.
