None of the ones that I have like it when I have "suggestions". I had a family practitioner once tell me to stop reading about the medications and let her worry about it, because she is the one with the medical degree

They don't have time to research in the way we can. Our current medical system does not allow them time.. and so much of their current info comes from drug reps... :o :( :x

Yep, that's what worries me most.

I would have "fired" her on the spot!!! Yet in her / there defense .. there is much for bs on the internet.. [as well as good]... and they don't like dealing with all the misinformation and non educated people.... sometimes wisely.. but sometimes it is perhaps to cover up inadequacies of their own.

NO ONE is going to be more interested in your health.. than you!!

When I started..on this alternative road.. I did not have the internet to go to. it was books.. and while there is also a lot of BS out there in print also.. there is also a lot of good.

I remember.. mention a book to one of my earlier Doctor's.. He actually took it and read it. We talked about it. 20 years later I learned his conclusions were wrong.. but I was very impressed with his taking the time.. to listen to me.. to try and learn.

I wasn't getting that stuff from WebMD  Back then, that incident, I didn't even have internet. My pharmacist had given me some info about the med. It was inside the bag when I bought it. It probably did annoy her when I showed her this literature... Looking back, I hate that I annoyed her. She really cared and I liked her...her hubby made her close her practice and help him at his. She obeyed him as is her cultural beliefs to do so. She was really a good, caring doctor. :)

Do I research the internet? Sometimes and I know there is a lot of crap on there....but I do work in a bookstore. I do read books also. 8) There is also a lot of good info on the web if you look at legit places. For example, I joined a website for people with MS. I have read a lot there and found some helpful info :)

Oh, well, I wish I could stay. I got caught up emailing a friend....now I must go to work. You beautiful people have a great day

I was not suggesting that you were not getting good info, or you were "inappropriate" with your questions. There is a lot of good stuff on the internet.

much of my good info would be considered quackery to many in allopathic medicine. shruggy.

but I am sure they get a lot of not so bright people.. with lots of crazy info. I had a dear friend that was an ER PA.. she got quite fed up with some of the people she had to deal with. People in the ER with a cold.. thinking they are dying.. and she is thinking to herself.. Glenn would be out biking  [she was a biker also]

or all the broken bones.. that are not... all that stuff.

If your Doctor was disturbed by your questions.. she was not a good Doctor.. no matter how nice she was.. or how caring she was...

well I am slowly working away at this one box... it is taking much longer than it should. I stop by here on the way out to the barn for stuff...

this time after some wood working glue..

I had an email from a list.. I have asked twice to be removed from...

another from one of our clubs asking for input...

"talking" with Laurie about wether they can get me a joiner /planer.... {they can't} called Matt to see if they can get them...

other stuff... :D

it is not a popularity "contest" ... I have had good caring.. friendly Doctor's...

It takes more than that. hmm my last PA.. that I fired. fit all of that.

At one point.. she [again] asked to said I had had a stroke. I had already at another appointment.. told her.. Dr. Gable [a former ER physician] My Eye Doctor... and my Neurologist all said I had a stroke.

because I got better sooner than I should have.. she could not accept I had had a stroke...

There were other reasons I left.. I did not get rude or assertive with her..

we have since showshoed together.. she has written me for bike advice.. we are fine with each other.. but.. She is no longer a care provider of mine.

While Dr. Wong-Ken liked me and for the most part treated me well. He could be gruff with people... but he was brilliant.

Some of his "programs" you needed to follow to the letter. Like the guy with the gut yeast problem. In his case Dr. Wong-Ken would have stopped seeing him. If you did not want to follow what he was saying.. he did not want to waste his time.

Yet I would also questioned him. I know at one point I questioned if my amalgam filings were a part of my problem.. he said no...

Over a year later.. he had a different opinion on that... and found it to be a problem with many of his patients. .. of course earlier when I asked he had no way to address the problem either.

My box is done.. 7' x11" x 13" high. To cover just the new dryer vent duct.. it did not need to be so high.. but this also covers the spot where the old dryer vent came out.

I had to cut the board to follow the contour of the cedar shingles. I had to glue a couple of boards together for the 11"x 12" front. The new jig made easy work of that...

Actually I used the jig to fasten the two sides... to the wall and "floor". again it worked real nice for that...

The front and top have visible screws. I could have used my finish nailer.. but wanted to be able to take it apart if need be.

This is a photo of the box... and of the utility chase under it. I have some pieces left of the heavy rubber horse stall matts.. and trimmed that to set the Kettle Bells on. I have the two weight vest racks on either side... hooks for my jump ropes and stretching rope.

I did put some spray foam in the bottom of the box. I covered the pipe over. It might make it quieter. I also used it to help seal the old vent hole. I also used some of my shelter's doors

Each door has a pocket in the bottom where pipe sections go in to add some weight to each one.. well the pipes don't stay in that well. So I went out first and sprayed a little foam in the end of each of those... then finished the can on my inside work. :D

oh yeah. the shelf above the lower windows.. I have a large plug in power strip there.. that plugs into the hardwired lower strip. I have my rechargeable mountain bike lights set up there.... vs the kitchen counter.
