Thanks guys, I appreciate the encouragement. Ive never really built anything before this. At the party this weekend alot of my friends assumed my friend Connor did it with my help...after explaining that nope he made suggestions, and just helped me cut the three 2x6's for the arched roof and to put down the EPDM membrane the rest was me they became really impressed. It wasnt really hard.
I still have work to do on the inside and as always time money and weather are a problem lol. If all goes well I start working on wednesday (the board of ed votes on it tomorrow night) and let me know when Im gonna start...I almost hope for monday so I can shoot down and get working on the Vardo again...I am looking forward to a paycheck just hopeing the job goes permanent. Going from Helpdesk to Custodial Maint but after 14 months of unemployment Im ready for a change lol.
Mike the adhesive is very much like rubber cement. I put the EPDM membrane down over my wooden roof and made sure it was on even then used a dozen clamps to hold it down. Next morning me and my friend rolled half the roof back on itself and used a medium nap roller (with a stick) and I rolled both the wood and the membrane with a nice heavy coat of the adhesive. It took about 8-10 minutes and it was tack free, so I slid a 10ft 2x2 carefully under the folded over membrane and we put some tension on it and carefully rolled it out 1 turn of the 2x2 at a time till we got to the edge, then did the same thing with the other side. It took maybe a half an hour. I wouldnt recomend doing it alone but with 2 ppl its easy.
