My prayers are with you all

Postby Jim Edgerly » Tue May 24, 2011 7:43 am

My thoughts and prayers go out to Miriam and Mike and all the others that have had their lives affected by these horrible storms. Life is tough enough without having to worry about hell raining down on you from the skies.

We just talked to Miriam. They are fine. They are getting lots of help from the Red Cross, and also the electrical industry. So not to worry...

I asked if she had a Paypal address, and she said no she didn't. But she said to donate to the Red Cross. She said it's not because she is too proud or humble, but rather because there are people a lot worse off than her.

Mike and Miriam also are covered by insurance, but there's a lot of people that are not covered by insurance. They are the ones that are really going to need the help.

Miriam said they were fishing, and they followed the storm home. They were actually following the storm chasers in. They had to be careful not to go too fast as to overtake the storm!

They are looking for a place to stay. Something like a house so they have a place for their dogs. Miriam said there was an apartment around the corner that wasn't touched by the storm. Normally rent there is $450. But they are currently taking applications along with a $1000 application fee. What does that sound like to you?

If she has to, she'll buy a trailer and drop it on some land they have.

Anyways, she is doing as well as can be expected for the circumstances. She appreciates all the prayers.

Mike,

Our AG want to know of any price gouging in Joplin. Give this information to Miriam.

To report suspected price-gouging: call the Attorney General’s office at 1-800-392-8222, or go on line at ago.mo.gov.

I'm so glad Mike, Auntie M. and family are safe, feeling awfully bad for them and others whom have lost their homes, even worse for those who lost loved ones.

Take care of each other.

Thank God for prayers answered. I am so glad to hear that Auntie M is OK. However, many more were not spared and our prayers go out to their grieving family and friends. Living here in No NV we've been bellyaching and whining about the terrible winter we had, way too cold, way too much snow, winters way too long. The general consensus in the office is that we need to shut the hell up and be thankful that we've not suffered a catastrophe such as the floods and tornadoes. From now on, no more complaints about the weather here in No NV from me.

You see it on the TV and it is unreal and seems so far away. You feel for those who are in it, But once you know one soal who is there. It all hits a over again. there are thousands of people there who are in need of help. I am so glad that this woman who made time to wish each of us a Happy Birthday, and many other good thoughts and ideas.

I hope that when things settle those who live near her and her family can help her rebuild and in time build a new TD allowing her to get back to a normal life.

seeing :worship: from others for her and her family is warm and Kind..

We send our :worship: 's also.

Auntie M, Thinking about you and your family. I'm glad y'all are safe, but I'm sorry that you experienced the loss of your home.

The person who posted above me is so right. You always take the time to send birthday wishes, kind thoughts and messages to everyone else, because you are such a kind and dear person. I sure miss seeing you around here and on FB!

Take care and be safe! My prayers are with y'all and everyone in Joplin, MO.

Yes, I believe Mike and Miriam faired alot better off than most but still, it will be a long haul for them. I'm glad they weren't home when it hit!!

We were camping with her about a month ago and made the comment, "I'd probably get better gas mileage if I cleaned out all the CRAP and cast iron that's in there!". I can't help to think if all that iron helped keep the Biggy Buggy nailed to the front yard  .

I went ahead and dropped some money into the Red Cross hat this morning, gotta help our neighbors out if I can.
