The GeoDrop - Completed!

Postby GeoDrop » Tue May 31, 2011 10:49 am

Sandi and I are happy to present to the teardrop community, our version of a teardrop camper, the GeoDrop! First conceived Labor Day 2009 after seeing pictures of my cousins Kuffel Creek project, we began construction in October 2009 and are considering it complete (mostly) as of April 2011! We've taken it out on two camping trips so far, traveling 968 miles. We are looking forward to the many camping trips and the wonderful people we will meet along the way.

The body of the camper is 62"’ wide x 126" long x 58" tall (5x10.5x5)
Estimated loaded weight 1350lbs
Custom-built trailer w/ Dexter torsion axle
12v and 115v electrical systems via WFCO 8725
Fully insulated walls, floor & ceiling
Queen-sized memory foam RV mattress (Overstock.com)
Air Conditioner and Ceiling Fan
Full Kitchen Galley including Propane Stove & Microwave, Sink w/ Hot & Cold Running Water
Current tow vehicle is our 2005 Dodge Magnum

PS - GeoDrop is a word play on "Geocaching" and "Teardrop". We are avid geocachers and will use our new teardop to expand our geocaching footprint!

WOW - We like this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Very good work. I like the name - we too are into GeoCaching - seems to go hand in hand with TD - have fun!

Now get out there and go camping.

Congratulations on a very nice job. I enjoyed your pics (except for the lacerated finger... OUCH!!!) I think you did a great job in selecting the woods for your Geodrop. I hope my turns out as nicely as yours :applause: :applause: :applause:

We won't be able to make it to Minden this year, have a conflict that weekend. We should be at the rest of the North Central gatherings this year.
