I remember when I would walk into a room, I knew what I went there for.

One of the beauties of age is the ability to foresee something that is going to go wrong, and the wisdom to just sit back and watch others learn a lesson. Courtesy of the "school of hard knocks" Some times, there is no point in trying to educate others....just let 'em learn. Doug

My ex was a high school teacher back in the '90s. One of his students said, "Wasn't Paul McCartney in another band before Wings?"

Grateful Dead music has been resurrected more times than I can count.

I have to say, though, that I enjoy getting older (close to mid 60s now). There is so much more wisdom, peace and feeling settled with the world that was totally lacking when younger. Would like to feel zippier of course, but don't really miss the raw energy of my 20s, when every little thing seemed like a "big deal."

I used to remember where I put things. Now, when I finally find it, I can't remember why I was even looking for it.

I think I spend more time looking for my tools than I do the actual work.

I was really lucky. When I had my first heart attack when I was 29 my wife had recently had a first aid course and the ambulance had just that moment dropped off a patient a block away. I believe that day, for some reason, someone was watching over me. I have had the pain of ending one relationship, but I have also had the joy of watching my two children walk, ride a bike, learn to read, write and most recently start to learn to drive. I got to get married again too and make some amazing friends, travel halfway around the world and spend a hell of a lot of the bank's money!

I have very little hair left, my shoulders ache most days, I no longer will admit to my waist size in mixed company and "senior moments"are no longer quite so funny.

All this aside being old is a hell of a lot better than being dead. I love getting old, more every day.
