Critical Error frustration

Postby IASCOTT » Sun Jun 05, 2011 12:18 pm

I truly enjoy this site but these continuing critical error adds a frustration level that almost makes coming here a real pain. Today I gave up trying to keep up with the foamies because I couldn't navigate. It took me a bunch of tries leaving the site and coming back to just make this post. :x I visit other sites that run this same forum program and never have this problem why just here.

It's working okay right now, but if it continues, let me know, I'll turn in a trouble ticket.

it's happened for me too
I just hit refresh and that usually fixes it

Had troubles off and on all weekend and this morning... Sometimes refresh worked, sometimes it didn't. Could the errors be caused by the volume of traffic here?

Compared to some sites running the newer 3.x versions of phpBB the traffic volume here is pretty minimal. I do believe the hosting provider may not be allowing as many database connections as they could. At the time I made this post http://arstechnica.com/civis/ (uses phpBB 3.?) has 5416 users online.

So far today it's up to 5 times. Yesterday was , I lost count after 10.

I really enjoy reading the forum, BUT it is very agraviting when you cant
even return to the page just left.

Anyone for turning in some trouble tickets ???

Thanks Mike for a wonderfull site.

It's become such a regular occurrence these days. I hit RELOAD a few times and sometimes that works, but I usually give up and try again a while later.

Same as Zack, Again today the dreaded Critical error. It also seems to happen when I have typed a response and it does not go through. Makes me have to redo it.

I've mentioned it before, it might be worth looking into whether using the board as a chat room could be causing issues. The thread killer thread is over 40,000 and the campfire one is getting high again.

Perhaps an actual chat room could be started for those people that use those threads.
