Teardrop Trailer Documentary Preview

Postby greekspeedoman » Thu Jun 16, 2011 9:45 am

For the past year and a half, my project hasn't been a teardrop trailer. It has been a documentary/travel-log film about teardrop trailers. A preview of it is in the link below.

Special thanks goes to the following sponsors of this film: Mike and the members of the mikenchelle.com forum, The Ford Motor Company, The US Library of Congress, The National RV Hall of Fame, Glacier National Park, Walla Walla University, and the Don Keele Award for Excellence in Education.

Enjoy

Well done!

I appreciate we are a small audience, but I hope there will be some way for those of us outside the US to see this.

Mark,
This looks awesome
I love the idea of using it as a tool to teach.....history, geography, economics...just great! :applause:

Did you also do the music soundtrack all by yourself?? Super job!

Put me down for 'Can't wait!' too....

So are we going to see a preview at the 2011 Ocean Tears Campout?

Thanks for all the encouragement everyone. I hope it is something truly worth watching. I just love our little campers and the history is quite interesting.

I hope to release it in two formats (assuming the lawyers can work it out with Ford). DVD and as a online download (itunes, amazon, or something). That way everyone can have a chance to view it if they want. Even those on the other side of the pond!

Yes, the soundtrack was done in my music studio (I have a side business). It is actually me on guitar and a friend on piano (he is a member of the professional band "Falling Up"). Glad you like it. You can see a video clip of an early recording of the same song here:

rmclarke - Glad you like the teaching tool. I have geared the film for a younger audience. It has flashes of Mythbusters type antics plus documentary. In my teaching, I have found that it keeps student's attention to mix it up from time to time.

dreadcptflint - I will have copies for you guys and the others who helped with the film. Unfortunately, we won't be at the Ocean Tears gathering. My wife's brother decided to get married that weekend. I'll get it to you one way or another though. It all started with you folks!

I'll keep everyone updated on the progress. I'm running test audiences right now and polishing the final production.

Cheers!

Very intriguing. How long is the finished film going to be? I recognized a few of the teardrops in the preview which always adds interest.

I like the chord progressions in the song, very well written, and the video is nice too, I was a full time musician back in the day, and was an amateur videograhper a few years ago, and am now an amateur Teardrop builder. I built mine for love. Here is a link to my websites, there are no copyrights or any of that crap on them, please feel free to use any of the build pics or anything you like from the site. I am not here to try and get a nickle from a photo I took. Some people get trippy on that. If my stuff can help you then I would glad to be a part of it.

My Camping events photos with lots of good photos. These contain photos of other peoples teardrops, but I couldn't imagine them not liking their works to be seen.

The final film is about 50 min. long. It may change a little from that time as I go through more preview audiences but that is a pretty good ball park.

The purpose is to be used in secondary education but so far it has appeal for us older people as well.

Thanks 2bits for offering your website resources -very generous. I am very nearly done and may or may not use your stuff in the film. However, I am putting together a group of sites for students to use as additional resources for teaching materials. Your sites are on the list.
