where did you get your tail lights I like them?
Awesome job on building this trailer

Thank you Droid.
I'm loving every day of the build, even though I'm going to have to let it go when it's done. Luckily it's going to some great friends and camping buddies, so we should see a lot of it.

The rear lights are rootes lights from a Hillman Super Minx, also used with the Humber Sceptre, and the Singer Vogue. Here's a link to some shots of them as they were used
http://www.simoncars.co.uk/rootes/sminx.html
The bulb holders and reflectors face straight back, so make them well suited to being turned 90 degrees.

Hopefully another update tomorrow night

I'm happy to report that Barry and Jeanette like the fishy galley :D :D

We had a little time on the build today... and fitted the window in the rear of the trolley top. I made it from a layer of 1/2" ply then a hardboard spacer, then a piece of aluminum, followed by another hardboard spacer and then more ply.
This is how it looks from the top

Image

Here it is fitted ....

Image

The portholes in the doors have been tinted,

Image

I've refitted the stained surrounds

Image

Ive used a couple of hole saws to make some rings for the little portholes, and given them a first coat of stain

Image

I hope to get a bit more done this week

Absolutely awesome Dave.

I think that when I get around to buildong the Grizz-Pod II there will have to be some woodburning like you do.

I absolutely love the detail and finish in that artwork you do.

The trailer looks stunning.

In the mean time I will get on with this lot:

And start planning this:

Thanks Fella's.....It's been another very enjoyable journey. :)

We're just about finished.....I'll take some internal shots before Barry takes Wanda to her new home.

:D :D I had chance to take Wanda to the bridge last night :D :D Jess came along for the ride, as did VW Mark from up the road.

All checks done....hooked up ready for its maiden outing. :D :D

Image

Stopped off at Marks

Image

Next stop was the bridge :D :D

Image

Axle weight...... with the trailer still hooked to the car

Image

Total weight unhooked....

Giving us a nose weight of 60 kg.. :D :D and a saving of 20 kg on the Coppertop.

Glad to report it to tows nicely... and will be ready for collection this weekend.. :D :D. It will be a shame to see it go :( :( .....but at least it's going to a good home .... and we'll see it in a couple of weeks.....and fairly regularly with a bit of luck :D :D

I took Jess out with the Coppertop last night too :D It was her first time towing.... and see got on just great. Had her reversing around corners in no time :D :D

Hi jackdaw,

A consummate effort!

Great photos as well, especially showing the interior. There's
always an interesting thing to look at as one looks around.

I hope you'vs signed this little TD work of art! - If not, you
ought to start doing so.

Cheers,
norm/mezmo

That looks amazing, inside and out!
The four portholes do look best and I love the cabinet door art.

Jackdaw

A wonderful trailer. I like your rear window and am thinking about stealing it for a build.

Thank you for all the lovely comments. It's been another very enjoyable build.

We've had a right busy weekend... The last few little bits on Wanda on Friday.... Then I started on the carport/ rose arch . :D :D

We had Warbird, Mrs Woman, and the Badgestars arrive Saturday luchtime. :D :D
Barry and Jeanette had come down to collect Wanda.... and amongst other things.... Warbird and Mrs Woman had brought them couple of presents, in the form of some custom steam punk koi cushions :D :D

Image

The Badgestars got acquainted with Wanda :D :D :D

Image

Image

Enjoying the trolleytop porthole lighting

Image

We had a few plumbing bits to do on Barry's Delica camper conversion.... Plumbed in the gas hob, and sink, and drilled the waste through the floor.

Then moved the trailers over for a last photo call on the drive...

Image

Sunday lunchtime we had Wanda hooked up to the black van....

Image

Image

Wanda disappearing.....

Image

I'd started on the carport/rose arch on Friday afternoon. making up the ply beams, and started on the stud wall that sits in front of the hedge.
This is how it looked on Friday night

Image

With help from Geoff and Barry and Jeanette , We cracked on with it on Saturday afternoon. By Saturday night we'd finished the rear stud wall, and got the main beams up....

Image

After the badgestars left on Sunday, We thought we'd give it a lick of fence paint to lessen the impact. It's kind of blending in

Image

Great weekend... but very tiring

Hopefully I should get the carport finished this weekend.
I'm not sure when number 5 is going to start. We've got a lot of camping to do over the summer, and our 1964 VW camper may well be back from the welder/resto man in the next couple of months.
At least i'll have a dry area to store the camper, and build more trailers when the time comes
