I don't see that" there is only room for two people" is a drawback. I kinda like the other person with me for about 35 years now. Kinda a nice cosy place to be with your best friend.

Using this writers way of thinking, fishing should also be avoided. You need a 10K boat, a large truck to pull it and thousands of dollars in poles and lures. When all you have to do is go to the local market and buy your fish!

My Silver Shadow is a upgrade from truck and tent camping.
And is much bigger than both.

A couple of years apart. I got the tent when I could afford it.
Than got the SS when I was finished paying child support at age 55. :applause:

Well to each their own. My mom wanted to see my build pics from my first lil vardo and then asked me when I get the bigger tow vehicle will I build a full sized one and I said no. Im camping, might make it a little wider for a better galley and a little longer for my propane fireplace I want but smaller and lighter means better fuel mileage. Now if I was living in it thats a different story... the lil vardo is to let me commune with nature.

Although I don't think the author of the article gets it, he did say two things that were true for me 1) I'm moving up from a tent and 2) my kids have moved on. When it came to setting up a tent the kids were worthless!!! :lol:

. It was easier to do it myself. And now that it is only the wife and I, a teardrop is the perfect size! And since a tent no longer has to be set up all I have to do is set up the dining fly over the table

Oh well... guess you can't win them all....

The writer is obviously an IDIOT ... or a representative of the RV industry , which is currently in BIG economic trouble , because they make overpriced crap products ... :roll:

Just more net babble , by someone who's probably never seen one ...much less camped in one .. Can't believe everything you read .. Generally Ehow is of little help anyway ... :thumbdown:

I am one of the members who has went through the ranks of tent to RV ownership, currently live in my 37' 5th wheel. All of my traveling and camping are done with my teardrop.

and I don't feel like I'm at a disadvantage at all

I came across some information a few weeks ago on who writes the information for Web sites like eHow and the like. The writers answer questions, and are paid by the piece. They are not experts or even knowledgeable about the topic; likely their information is a mash up of information found by using Google or other search engines.
