I would love to design my TD in 3D :) before the build. Does anyone have software recommendations for this? I've fiddled with some 3d apps before but never really used a CAD. Also if there is another thread, I didnt see it, please point me to the existing thread if I missed it.

The forum has an entire section devoted to CAD and the like here http://www.mikenchell.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=36

I used TurboCad for years for mechanical design. It's cheap and ACad compatible.

If you don't already know CAD, the Google Sketchup is probably the best think for you.

I second the Google Sketchup!

Mike...
The quality is remembered long after the price is forgotten, so build your teardrop with the best materials...
