I think we are looking at this extreme heat for at least another month or even through Sept. There are not even any grasshoppers this year and almost no mosquitoes. This is great, except there is nothing for the birds and the bats to eat. I've totally let the lawn go and am just focusing on keeping the trees alive. We are now in the most extreme drought year since weather records have been kept.
However, some of my plants (esperanza, some roses, fig tree, small pomegranate, mulberry, small oaks) seem to totally thrive in the heat as long as they have adequate moisture.
Slow, hitch up the tear drop and head out to camp and fish, and see if there are friends out there that you just haven't met yet.
