Anita,

I'm glad to see that you sorted everything out.

I was in a similar situation as you except I knew it up front. While my teardrop isn't a foamie, I built it "off frame" because the frame I had made had a crown in it where the torsion axle was welded to the frame rails.

I did use a floor jack and some heavy timbers to partially "tweak" the crown out of the frame. When I fastened the teardrop to the frame, it "pulled out" the rest of the crown on the frame.

I think that once you have the walls up and everything tied together, plus the stoutness of your floor, it will help correct some or all of the frame situation.

Take care,
Tom

TY Tom, and in the end this will just prove that if I can do it...anyone can. Right?

The other thing that I realized today it that I am probably world champion of rounding of the head of screw driver bits. LOL I can do it quicker and better that anyone that I know.

AR , Try rubbing some Beeswax on the threads of the screws ... That helps them go in so much easier (less rounding) and serves to protect the wood around them ..

A bar of soap will also work. You just need to lubricate the screws a little.

Gator, although I tried soap in the past , and it works , I felt the wax , which is not water soluble , like soap, would protect the screw and surrounding wood , the act of screwing it in would generate heat and melt the wax into the little tubes (pores) in the wood ... somewhat waterproofing the hole ... Just my take on it ... use what you want , but use something ... Makes it much easier ... less chance for rounding the slots !

Thanks guys, I will give it a try. I don't think I have any bees wax but I have lots of soap.

Dang it! I have to do some chores but when I get finished I am going to go and glue tha puppy back together. So no screwing today. Just the smell of the glue and fingers all stuck together with bubbly glue. Life is good. I sure hope that I can get it back to the point that it was when I took it apart today.

i too agree that i am glad you found the problem. i like the idea of blaming the hubby. gave me a good chuckle.
but my hubby would be like you and would have taken it apart also. something like that would have irked him to the point of nightmare.

Hi guys, I have been working on the trailer when I can. I almost have it back to where it was when I took it apart. It is going back together beautifully. I will post some pics as soon as I have some progress to show. I think as soon as I get this bad girl enclosed, the very 1st thing I am going to do is install the A/C. Dang it is still hot here.

Right now I plan on putting it in the back under the bed. I don't know if it will work but I think it will if I can figure out how to vent it.

You know, we really need to figure in the AC from the start of the build , putting in a little wood framing to brace it , much as we’d frame the door ...

Well, my thinking is that the front half of the bed is sitting on the wood floor and that would probably be a good place to sit the AC. The front of the ac would be exposed underneath the bed to the rest of the trailer, kind of like it would be if I put it in a window in my home. If I understand this, I will need to vent the heated air to the outside and make sure that I have a way to catch and drain condensation. Right? But I don't work very well from plans. I need more of a visual. So I am going to kind of have to sit the AC in there and look at it. I don't know if that makes since but that's what works for me. LOL
