Looking good! It's a great feeling to get some build time isn't it? I'm in the same boat, sporadic building....

It seems that life always gets in the way. Between getting the house winterized, being ill two weekends in a row and traveling on business, there just wasn't time for me to work on the Road Foamie. Hopefully, I'll hit a stretch soon where there isn't anything else pressing to do. But then again it's going to be holiday season soon and our house turns into bedlam... Oh well, I guess we do what we can. Good to know I'm not the only one...

GPW, I wanted a low and wide look but I think I may have overdone it a bit. Not that I could change a lot... The basic shape was dictated by the height of my garage door which means it can only be about 78" in total height and the width of a queen size bed, which meant I had to design with inboard wheel wells and a body as wide as the tires outside to outside

OK... After a nearly 4 month hiatus due to life, the holidays and shoulder surgery, I decided I needed to do something on the Road Foamie whether or not my shoulder is back to normal. It doesn't seem to matter whether I am doing something or not, the shoulder hurts so I may as well do something. I go back to the doctor in 10 days and I have a feeling I am going to go back to surgery for a "manipulation".

Due to the limited strength and range of motion, I found the smallest, lightest job I could. I decided to clean up and paint the windows that I got a while back. They'll go in the doors. These are from an RV parts reseller in Sacramento. I was able to find a matching pair with the inner trim rings. Great selection but not cheap! Lots of different used parts there. I probably will get my water pump from them when I get to that part.

Here are the pics. It's hard to tell but from the pics but the frames are pretty weathered since they sit on racks outside until someone buys them. The glass and rubber are in pretty nice shape though. Just some clean up and paint.

Nice windows !!! Glad you’re back at it ...

I still think low and wide is the way to go ... many reasons to think so ... especially fitting in the Garage ...

Since the shoulder is seemingly stuck (most likely due to scar tissue formation) and not getting any better and I think the surgery itself is actually healed, I think I'm OK. It's just making me crazy watching the trailer sitting there. I'll know next Monday if further surgical procedures are needed. Till then I think I'll just do little stuff. No heavy, overhead or awkward lifting, I swear!!!! Had to promise "she who must be obeyed", who is also an RN the same thing. She's OK with it. But thanks for the concern. It may be a bit ambitious but I'm shooting for a Memorial Day completion, as long as my work schedule, a week long trip to Wash D.C., a trip to San Diego for a visit to San Diego State University with my son and the budget cooperate.

Mel when I had my third surgery on my right knee, a total knee replacement, I could not bend it over 40, 50 degrees
no matter how hard the therapist tried.
I was put under and the doctor bent it over 100 degrees he said it sounded like someone was crumpling or wadding up paper.
when I came out of surgery and was laying on the gurney I tried to lift my leg and I was unable to move it I told the nurse but she didn't seem concerned,
it wasn't until they sat me up that I learned they had packed a hugh amount of ice around the knee and leg.
while the knee still won't bend enought to allow me to ride a bike I walk and get into and out of cars ok.
I hope you have as good as results as I did.

my father had the full knee replacement. it was horrible, they had to go and retear his knee so he could move it. he did get better and was eventually glad he had it done.

but your description with the sound effects gave me the creeps.

pete and louella, that's exactly what I'm facing here with the shoulder. No matter how hard I work at physical therapy, it's not getting any better so I think I am facing a manipulation. Doesn't sound like fun, they have to do it in the Operating Room since it hurts too much to do with a local anesthesia, (I asked) and I was told when my wife's shoulder was manipulated, you could hear it crack outside the operating room. Oh, and they do it using Propafol (the Michael Jackson drug). Used properly it's fine I'm sure but spooky anyway.

Anyway, more window time today.... I painted the first one in the flat black paint I had sitting around, don't like it so I'll have to go and get some semi gloss or satin finish black spray paint today and since we don't get the morning paper anymore (delivery sucked, so we stopped) I have no masking materials, so I guess I have to buy some. Doesn't seem right!!

that is what the vet said they will use on simba tomorrow. propafol. yes very safe if used properly and in a hospital setting.

Propafol... Does that mean that Mel and Simba will be able to sing and dance too !!!!
