Hi everyone. I'm new here and have a Tiny Travel Trailer. Well, it's getting there. I bought it as the shell, and the interior is limited only by my imagination(s) and now your imaginations. :-)

This is a picture of my trailer, "The Elf Cottage."

I really don't know it's history, but I am guessing it was born as a vinyl siding demo trailer. 2x4 stud frame, 4'x8' particle board floor. 2x4 ceiling beams, and particle board roof covered by some really cool octagonal shingles. Sides are styrofoam insulation covered by vinyl siding. Has one double hung, double pane, swing in to clean the outside vinyl window, with screen.

I have the evolution of the interior as my photo album on my profile. I am going to be doing some really fancy stuff with it, tiny trailer cutting edge to be sure. I'll post schematics and building procedures as I get there. One clue is, water cooled in the summer by making hot running water.

aaahhh...cute...just needs a little window box with flowers and a mail slot. You'll be right at home.

well I've been thinking about the mail slot, but a window box! Hmmm, maybe green house/terrarium like for while I'm driving, to protect the flowers. I'm hoping some day for 2"x2" gutters into a tank with a water filter for rain collection. (deep wilderness) All I find so far is the regular 4"x4" rain gutters.

Roof water collection is one item I have been brainstorming for my caboose build. I have come to 2 conclusions either yankee gutters built into the roof itsself or a 2 -3 inch pvc pipe that has the side cut open on the tablesaw to allow the water to run in while larger solids ( leaves and twigs) slide over. The very ends will remain uncut and can accept glued pvc fittings as needed for debris collection wells with a cleanout and filter boxes and the necessary piping to transport the water to the storage well.

After doing some study on roof top rainwater harvesting I learned that the incorporation of a check ball type diverter will allow the debris to wash from the roof into the sediment and debris colection cylinder and after the initial wash the check ball rises in the water and now diverts the clear rainwater to the storage tank.
