Why I have realtears.

Postby realtears » Sat Jan 07, 2012 9:37 pm

 I bought a NEW teardrop from American River Sales the end of feb. 2011. I was extremly happy with my teardrop, until it rained. After a 3 month drought, it finely rained. That should have been great because of the drought. But when I went to use my camper in June I found that it had leaked. in the kitchen area. The walls was warped and Mold and mildew was growing. and I was crying. I sent pics and a letter to ARS, they said they were going to make it good. But now after, stringing me along, assuring me they were going to fix it. Now they are saying I should have dried it out as soon as it rained, so the damage would not have happened.

As much as I understand the grief you are going through, I don't think this is the place or the way to introduce yourself as a new member. Maybe an intro and then into General Discussion area to discuss the alternatives available.
Cheers

I'm sorry, I'm not as happy with my teardrop as most of you are. I still love the concept, I just got a limon. I want others to know about the limon so others will not be sheding realtears too. It was "American teardrops". I have rebuild my inside and find out where and how it is leaking. I should have built it myself, It I did I might have been camping somewere, having fun.

I would keep after them if I were you. Saying you should have opened it up after the rain is absurd! Is there a warning sticker that says "this trailer will probably leak, so when it rains be sure to open it up."

You have every right to have assumed that the trailer would not leak, and accordingly opening it for inspection is not required. Trying to lay blame on you is ridiculous.

You can tell them how much you want to be able to tell all your friends on the T&TT forums how they honor their workmanship, and want everything to be right.
