The opinions in this post are my own. My comments are directed to those that might like an alternative approach to those already espoused. There is the right way,the wrong way,the USMC way, your way, my way, and the highway.

To make this a little more interesting and fun lets have a contest. I will send the person who guess the closest a 6 pack of shoe covers . The person with the closest number just pm me your address and the shoe covers are yours. In case you missed the other thread the shoe covers are the perfect tank cover for your white gas stove. Save your old socks to knit a sweater!

A lot more than I'm willing to pay. I think I can get new ones cast for maybe $35 a pair. Then you'll require a couple of bolts, a couple pieces of 1" wood dowels, a couple of push clips, and a couple of riviets. Drill 6 holes, tap two hole in the molds, drill and counter bore holes in the wooden handles and yer good to go.

Then you'll have a genuine "reproduction" waffle dog iron that is !% smaller than the original.

I'll drive into the valley next week and get a quote from a local foundry.

I have about ten lanterns. I'll dig out a checkbook this weekend and sign up for IRG. We've gone to paying for virtually everything with online banking and credit cards. Not sure where the real checkbook is, ha.

Stay tuned.

Gus

Cheers,

Gus
