I simply installed an 85 dollar Home Depot window AC unit within my tongue box. I cut a water-proof hole from tongue box thru the front wall of the TD for the cool air to enter, with a scoop diverting the air upward and a return air opening below, aligned with AC supply and return vents in the AC unit. Just too keep things ventilated, I added a grille in the front of the box to discharge warm compressor air. I have had no problems with moisture or water from condinsation within the tongue box. This set up works so well, I believe it would freeze ice on the windows, if left on with the windows, doors and roof vents closed...... :-)

Here is Arizona it is dryer so I just use a evap cooler. I tried the a/c deal first with a pet cool then window unit and found it to be more of a hassle and took up a lot of space. And I rather head where its cooler to camp when its hot.

You are in Georgia.....I'm next door in Bama.....if you want to warm weather camp I'd go for it. I embedded one in our TTT and love it.

Look up a fellow here called Casey Dog. On the last build he did about one of the best/simplest AC installs I've seen.

For viewing our different methods, check page 4 of our build:

http://tnttt.com/viewto ... c&start=45

And page 5:

Another neat way to use a cheap AC is the way a member named Parnold did his on his tear. Search his builds. He basically set it up where the unit is

outside and just ducted into a window. That way he doesn't carry the extra weight when the AC is not needed. Saves space too.

Hey Donnie lots of different ways to do it. I've done a few different ones on my lil tear drop from making a door piece that the a/c was left in and I just left the door on the drivers side open and tied back and had some twist that held the a/c door in place from the inside. that worked great but the a/c stuck in too far. Tied a different approach on the next couple of trips using a/c ducting and duct tape , uh we are in GA!

Used a piece of a/c sheet metal with a 6" starter collar, 6" ducting and a square to round duct piece tape to the 5000 btu a/c. Never got hot that was for sure!

Cliff
In God we trust, shoot the rest and he will sort out!
