Not sure if 500# of beer will get me to Lake Orion from here, but it may be worth a try sometime  8)

yes it would be nice to carry that amount of whatever. but i can't.

off topic here: i saw 3 killdeer in my front yard yesterday. simba saw them also, i think he wanted to go herd them up. but i really hope they don't decide to nest in the front yard, those babies will never see the light of day.
i hope they go back over to the side of the house where they were last year, i can keep an eye on them over there.

Wow, killdeer this time of year! They are not even thinking about returning here yet.

yes, i thought that was strange also. i think the babies last year hatched in april. i can't remember how long they nested for, but i too think this was early. maybe they are starting to scope out their spot. and maybe they are still trying to figure out their mates. like i said there were 3 of them. now i can't tell the sex of the three. hmm, now that i think more about that, we are almost into feb, and we' had an extremely mild winter.
i just looked it up. 3 to 4 weeks one site said, another said 24 to 26 days. so yes i think this is pretty early if they hatch in april.
hopefully right now they are just scoping for the right place and still pairing up.
haven't seen them this morning yet though.

Mild here also. Temps have only occasionally gotten down to 0 or a bit below. though there was a few weeks it didn't get above freezing. Have only twice gotten snow to cover the ground and that was less than an inch. Not enough to drift. County is saving a bundle on not having to plow the roads. I wonder if they will kick any back to us tax payers.

If your county is like our county they're certainly not using the extra money to do a good job plowing the roads. They've had very little to do this year but we had about 4 feet of snow fall over the last weekend (not too much by our standards) and it took them until Wednesday to completely clear the roads. Past years you could count on them to be done with the job by Monday. Yup, I'm hoping for a refund on my taxes

I am NOT volunteering my foamie to be for that test!

Been very pretty here too. Going to be very buggie next summer, though. Would rather have real winter than bugs.
