I was trying to run all my wires into the galley last night and found out I couldn't fit them all through the conduit that I had intended to use. So I scrapped the conduit and made a corner wire chase from oak boards. Looks a lot better than just plain conduit. If you look closely you can see joints in the face of the one board, so that the wires can be accessed at a later time if necessary. This one will be stained, but there is another larger chase below the shelf, which will just be painted.



My parents are out of town for a couple days, so I took the opportunity to stink up their garage with some CPES. The entire exterior skin got two heavy coats of the cold-weather formula. I had the heater on in the garage, so it was about 70 degrees and the first coat soaked right in pretty fast. The second looks like it created a nice glaze on the plywood - just what I want!





And if you mix the CPES in plastic Solo cups, you have about 15 minutes before they dissolve.



Finally, I added some under-shelf supports in the galley and the cabin. The 1x2 oak support may not look like much, but it definitely helps stiffen up that 5' span. I didn't want to encroach on the under-shelf clearance in either places. I can always add more of these down the road if I think its necessary.

Hope you can make it to the TJ's Cunningham Falls Gathering! I've seen you mention a few different trips this summer, and it seems you're going to be as busy as me! I have about a dozen trips planned, 5 of those being Tearjerkers events, a few RallyCross events at New Jersey Motorsports Park (camping at the track), a few trips boondocking in Northern PA, and a beach trip.

Where and when in New Jersey? Still too early for summer plans for me lol...but dreamin of it getting warm outside again!

I'm planning on going to the NJMP in Millville, NJ on July 21 and Nov 17 for the RallyCross events, but they have races all throughout the summer. There's a chance I might be going to the Rolex Series road race on May 10-12.

Last night I got a chance to wire up my 110VAC outlets, and do some general shop/trailer cleanup.

One in the upper galley....



One in the lower galley....



One in the front of the sleeping cabin....



And one on the interior shelf....



Also got the lower interior front skin in place, and the electrical compartment cover installed....





And finally, although they didnt give me EXACTLY what I wanted, my Maine registration is official!! Received a temp tag in the mail yesterday! Forms and check were mailed out January 12, and in exactly two weeks I received the temp tag! Registration was $10.50/year, and then I got suckered into spending another $25 on the vanity plate (PA doesnt even offer vanity tags for trailers).



Looks like it might be time for exterior primer this weekend!!

No, too expensive of a hobby for me right now! I've been a WRC and Rally-America fan for years... love me some rally cars!! In a few years, I'd like to start building a car, based on the '98 Impreza 22B. Then we'll see about joining SCCA

I became an SCCA member after getting hooked on autocrossing. In a 1985 300ZX, which was a less-than-optimum choice for a sport that favors light weight and agility. That has a lot to do with why I currently drive a Miata.

I also work races as a corner flagger, and in this region if you work enough events the region will pick up your dues. I realize that might not be the case where you are.

I know there is a fair amount of SCCA events in my vicinity, but always have so much other crap going on (like building this silly trailer)


Well today was a big day! Prep and paint!! I pulled it into the sunlight and gave it a once over with the sandpaper and orbital sander. Blew everything clean with the air compressor, wiped it down with a tack cloth, and decided it would be a nice day for a test drive. Just took it around the block, but this is the first time its been behind my car since we got the sides put on.









Next it was time to primer. Taped off a bunch of stuff and got to work. Its amazing how much of a difference a fresh coat of paint makes. It finally doesnt look like a brown turd!













Tomorrow's tasks: more primer, work on side "porch" lights, and spar urethane on the oak.

A little more progress today...

Decided what to use for the "porch light". Same idea as my last one - have a piece of wood that stands off of the side a little bit and mount LED's behind it. The LED's that I'm using on this are RGB LED's and I'll be able to change the colors on them



Testing out the idea...



Also finally got the hatch painted with primer and mounted. Its starting to look like a camper!
