Katozzi, We can't come to this one So I am kind of butting in here, but I know this board well enough to you would be welcome with or without a tear. We attended our first gathering mid-build and slept in the back of our car when it was snowing at the first Austin gathering. Best thing we did in a long time! Made bunch of new friends and gathered great ideas. Go.. tear or no tear!

I've been so busy over this past year I barely touched my tear last summer & have mostly resorted back to 'lurking' on here, however this event has me excited to try to finish the tear and make it down. Based on Google maps it's only a good two day drive which is pretty 'doable'.
At this point I'm a definite maybe...

Hope you can make this gathering. My goal was to make it to IRG III. Spend the last month before the trip working on the trailer pretty much every day, but we made. It's good to have an incentive.
my hubby got me a dutch oven for christmas. i've been using it in the house. while i love it so much, i want many more in different styles. but i don't think anything i have made would hold up for a competion.
i hate to admit this, but we actually just love relaxing at our gatherings. mingle with the folks and just do some chit chat.
Pot Luck, count us in..... and I would not worry to much of entertaining people. After all, there is the lake, beautiful scenery and good company. Hanging out and just chit chating is not all bad either. Kind of nice to have to slow down a little once in a while.
Hey Slow, I always travel with a Dutch Oven. While I am no expert I know enough to get by. We can surely have a great meal or two. Besides everything always tastes better out in the open air!
Went and met Slow yesterday. We drank a couple of pots and told lies for a couple of hours. Now he will need a new excuse to not stop in! ( Sorry Mike, it was a fiendish plot.)........... WOOPS....... ....... Now I need a new excuse also ........ Looking forward to August. Y'all come now ,hear!
Sounds like you guys had a good time Will. That was nice of you to come meet Mike. Now he knows someone and we are not all strangers! I want to hear some of those" lies" you both told around the fire in August!
I was wondering what you all thought about t-shirts for our gathering. I can do heat press t-shirts, and the price is pretty reasonable. It costs me about $6.00 to make a shirt using a good quality 50/50 shirt. Here is a design idea I had...
Tell me what you think of the design, and the idea.
Mike and Steve get their shirts for free as my way of saying Thanks!
You and Steve (woodbutcher) are gonna get your shirts for free. This thing was thought of, and put together by you two, and I want to say thanks.
I'll be glad to make shirts for anyone else that is interested, and I'll probably bring a few extras. I'm not doing it to make money, so the price will be six dollars, or seven dollars for 2xl.
I know we want to keep it simple Slow, and I think we are all in agreement about that. It will be a very fun, loosely organized gathering. Those are the best kind.
