what about the flexride half axles and you use an airbag to help lower it depending on how the bracket is you could have it where you add more air the bag inflates and the lower it gets..you'll loose inside space but if it is disguised with a cupboard or something then I cant see the problem

Hi Andrew,

Thank you for your continued support!

You may well be right...I'm waiting for the water to clear before I jump in head first...

The trailers I've looked at claim to have torsion axles.
This picture may show their setup better than I can decribe it.

It appears the torsion axle is free to do its job at ride height, and the hydraulic system simply moves the "mounting point of the axle/arms.
Their design puts the axle through the frame, as opposed to under it.

Here is another picture that shows the rough space occupied by the wheel well.

Rob - late reply as I've been on holiday.

I don't think those trailers do have any suspension - the trailing arm is too long for any rubber torsion system, so all they have is the raising and lowering system. I did wonder if they used the air cylinder as a basic (ie, undamped) air suspension, but I think that fixed-length link standing up is dropped down to lock the trailing arms for towing:

Droid,

I like the second one too!

$4000.00 was the rough, delivered price I got on a hydraulic, heavy duty fish house frame.
Fantastic idea, and very practical, but it drives the cost of an average person's project out of reach...

Thanks for posting the links!
