My new old teardrop

Hi folks. I am new to vintage trailers having just taken ownership of a 1939-1940 wooden and canvas top teardrop. I am the first owner outside of the builders family. The trailer has been in protected storage since the mid 60's. The great nephew said his uncle Alfred Araldi built her from a magazine plan. I have never seen one like her though so I wonder if he modified the plans. I named her "Alfie" after the builder. I have posted pictures under her name and would love some feedback about her unique design. She even has beveled glass windows! I am going to love restoring her.

She also features a stakeside design so the top comes off and you have a utility trailer. That must be part of the reason why the back is more vertical. The galley is still stocked with the original enamel cookwear and a 1938 Coleman kerosene stove. Treasures! The brake light is off of a Packard and says STOP in the glass.

What a great find, and looks to be in nice shape. There were many various plans in magazines back then, like Popular Mechanix and such. It would be wonderful to find a copy of whatever magazine. Enjoy it. Bob

That looks like a definite collector’s item and one to cherish! It doesn't look like it needs much, if any, restoring.
I think you've come to the right place to show that and to get help from other vintage equipment restorers, though.

Mary and Bob, I am in the Sierra's near Yosemite.

Sharon, there is water/mold damage to a small portion of the rear corner canvas and corner interior plywood that I have to address. Then the issue of rewiring and refinishing the exterior wood. But otherwise she is quite fine!

Love the design of that. Very cool how it sits on top of a box trailer.

If you get a chance, would love to see some more interior pictures to see how that works in connection with how it's attached to the box. Like, where the floor is compared to the door... etc.
