Would be nice to not have to leave the page to watch a video and have it play right in the post.

I've not missed it. First I was busy fixing notifications. Then I was busy fixing missing avatars. I hope to finish with the missing avatars tomorrow, and then move onto updating the subsilver3 template so folks there can see their gallery.

Then I plan on tackling the youtube mod. :D

Overall big improvement. However one issue that I don't see a ready workaround for, is when a member posts a direct link to an image in their gallery, if you are not logged in, which many times I am not (lurk mode) the image cannot be viewed and you are prompted to log in.. Case in point is this post here by "BC Cargo" in the Cargo Trailers Conversions Forum.

We do that on purpose, to get lurkers to register and participate. Without participation, we would be nothing!

Love it! I find it a lot more useable than the old version.

The only trouble I have, is I haven't gotten around to updating my bookmarks yet...

Sounds like a lot of admin work to do here... I'd be willing to come out of retirement, gonna be cooped up in a motel room all next week.

Kudos for doing all the work for the change!

It seems 'crisper' in appearance. Not familiar with all the
changes tho - 'just learn them as they are used.

My only big dislike was that the avatars etc. were on the right side -
So i went on a short trip and came back and then checked in again, and
lo-and-behold [!] they are back on the left side again! [Yeh ! - I've
'trained myself to sort-of ignore the right side of the screen since
most of the ads on web sites I go to are on the right.] So that's
a good thing! Ha!

The new url/web address is easier to give to others now too - that
should help the newly curious find the site easier now.

Cheers,
Norm/mezmo

Mike,

Thanks for doing all of this work. I've found the transition pretty seamless except I had to re-learn how to post pics (not a big deal). Other than that, all is good. Again, thanks for all the hard work.

It's annoying and the reason I no longer really come here and even lurk because I use multiple computers and really don't want to log in every new visit to see what is up.

Also people who are new the forum just appears to be broken with a bunch of Red X's instead of most forums which have a link you click and ask you to register or login to view. If you aren't logged in now you see nothing but red X's everywhere in the forum like it was abondoned or something.

Didn't read all the posts but I have problem with Chrome. All the stuff at the top of the page is scrunched together right now the line that starts with Board index is right above the formatting line with the next line of text behind the formatting line and the title of the thread is on top of the pic in the top right corner.

Until this morning, I could just hit refresh and it would fix itself. Also I am using the alternate layout scheme so I get avatars to the left, LIKE THEY SHOULD BE. :)

I'll be back with an attached pic.

All styles should now have the avatar on the left. Maybe if you switch back to ProSilver, it will solve the header problem.

Much better now and thanks for moving the avatars to the left as God intended them to be. :worship: :applause: :D

I agree. I have a build thread over in the Cargo Trailer Conversions forum so that family, friends and co-workers who would like to see the progress via the photos, but all they see is the red X's unless they sign up...doesn't make much sense if they have no need nor interest to sign up.

I am in the process of migrating my trailer build to my own website but would rather have it here if the owners and mods of this forum change their direction on this...

Also as this site does not use SSL for secure logins, unless I am on my own home pc or my personal work pc, I would never login to any site via plaintext from any other pc that I do not fully trust to be secure and clean...hence the lurk mode at times. Call me paranoid, but 15+ years of professional multi-platform IT experience has served to color my views on computer security...
