winter camping in Banff!!!

Looks like a nice trip. I am probably going to go camping next week. But it will be down in southern Utah, Arizona, Death Valley. Like you I found my first mattress to soft. I was sleeping on the floor in the bottom of a 5 inch hole as my first foam was way to soft for me. This is what I tried next.

Foam

I now have 5 inches of that stuff. It is now just a bit to hard but is a whole lot better than before. I have the memory foam toppers. Took them off, just not for me. If I was to do it again I might get 3 inches of this foam and put a softer kind on top of it.

Great first trip! Banff is one of my 'got to go there one of these days' places.

Do not use memory foam in cold weather. It it is not kept warm it becomes
quite hard/dense and draws your body heat away - i'd consider it dangerous
in that circumstance. This is based on experience with a Temperpedic
mattress during an extended loss of electricity due to an ice storm a few
years ago. It's fine in normal conditions. Maybe some other type foam would
be OK though.

Congratulations on a successful first trip. The outdoor pics look c-c-c-cold; but, the inside of the trailer looks nice, warm, and cozy! It looks like you did a good job on your trailer. I'll bet you'll enjoy a lot of great trips with it! Thanks for sharing it all.

Banff is gorgeous and brings back great memories. My wife and I honeymooned there. We, however, went the deluxe route and stayed at the Banff Springs Hotel. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking. Looks like a light snow year... I'll need to try and make it up there for some camping. Looks like a good maiden voyage... I'm jealous. still building
