Please show me what you did for blinds or curtains. If you did curtains please show the hardware or how you mounted them thanks.

Here's how I do my curtain rods and curtains.
Teardrop #3 &4 is done like this. The turned ends are glued and doweled to the doors.

Teardrop #2 was done like this with a SS screw to mount the turned ends.

Curtains are the same on all with a 2" hem at the top and divided in the middle with a stitch for a 1" dowel rod pocket.
The top 1" pocket makes it look nice.

I did curtins. I used a simple dowel. I found the birdhouse ornaments on a fluke at a craft store I drilled a hole in he sides and stuck in the dowel . One side is glued and he other side not so that I can remove the curtains. I mounted them with a metal interlocking finger thing I found in the mark down barrel at the hardware store that was perfect. it fits almost flat to the wall and to the back of the bird houses. It interlocks like the old "here is the house here is the steeple, open the doors and heres all the people". Actually it is more like how you twist your hand together to be able to wiggle your middle finger on either side. If you don't remember that, then I am too old. Too bad I don't have a picture.

For my side doors, I picked up a couple cheapo curtain rods from Lowes. I think they were $4 or $5 each. Adjustable 24-48". The brackets take 2 small screws each, and the rod gets wedged into the "cup" of the brackets.

Mine are like a bed roll. There is velroe sewn in just the right spot to hold them in the up position behind the flap. A slit was sewn to go over my window crank. This holds the curtain in place and allows you to open the window without opening the curtain. I want as much air flow as possible and this keeps the curtain completely above the screen. There is also a tab of velcroe allowing the curtain to be held half way open too.

Debbie and Randy - Are your curtains held to the rod by plastic hangers or are those tabs of fabric?

They are fabric tabs. They slide very easily

Hear is my blind set up



The curtain rod is black 1/2 inch water pipe and the holders is 3/8 eye bolt that goes through the wall and on the outside is now a stainless steel cap nut. I have one on each side ( one door on the right side ). The reason I made it this way is so they are also strong enough to be assist bars. Or in my case "Fat ass assist bars"



The curtains themselves are just pillow cases that I have put 3/8 grommets in so I can use shower curtain rings. Need to figure out how to use my sewing machine some day.

I found some cool fabric at Joanne's that had a tan background and darker Batik leaves. No matter where you were, it looks like there were leaves outside shining through. I also loved the rod on bottom and using the grommets that forced the bends in the curtains. That made them sort of like vertical blinds and very cool.



The rods were simple wooden dowels that are held in place by aluminum C channel and the screw went through the outside end to hold the rods in place. You can swivel the aluminum down or up to get the rods out if needed. I used bloodwood scraps that I had that didn't need staining, and cut them at an angle to step out the rod a bit too.

I have about a dozen different curtains that I change out depending on my destination, the season or just whatever I feel like at the time. My wife sews a lot, so whenever she finds cool fabric she thinks I'll like, I end up with another set of curtains. I didn't see any need to have a rod on the bottom, and when it's hot outside, I'll end up flipping the curtain up over the rod to get the maximum airflow anyway.



Like a lot of other things on my build, my curtain rods came from a garage sale. The wife says they were curtain rods for an entry door sidelight, I couldn't tell you any different because I have no clue. These babys were new in the package and set me back a cool ten cents a piece. The cost of 4 cup hooks probably doubled my investment.
