It still doesn't work for me :( Had to log on 3 times just to get to the message screen... now let's see how many times I'll have to write this and log on to get it to post
Wow! It posted the first try..... but it took 5 times logging on to post this edit :x

I like it. Even all the little stars and circles.

What do the circles with the lines mean. Also half of my Google tool bar gets taken off. It only does this when I'm using this form.

Yipeee! Now that the name of th forum has changed, I can now access it from work!!!! IT had blocked out the old forum, ebay, YouTube and all things enjoyable. We still can access Google search...well some people can. Anyway, just on a whim, I thought, "I wonder if I can access the forum now that the name has changed." Shazam!

The new look will take some getting used to, but at least I can view it during the day time.

Todah,

I checked on the old forum, and you didn't have an avatar there any more. Do you suppose you could upload one here? Just go to User Control Panel...

This new and improved version is slower than the old. Well at least on my computer.

Gage,

That's a given. Add features, slow stuff down! Is there a cure?

I like it just fine, but just before the change I went over a few years of posts and copied url's of topics of interest for my upcoming project. Now none of the links work anymore.

Is there any way to cross-reference old posts with where they are now? Searching for what I noted about them is useless.

Old post url example: http://www.mikenchell.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=33364 Where is it now? Is there any way to find all of these links?

Yes, it's easy to find the posts... the topic numbers and the post numbers never changed. So just replace
http://www.mikenchell.com/forums

with

http://www.tnttt.com

e.g.

http://www.mikenchell.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=33364

becomes

http://www.tnttt.com/viewtopic.php?t=33364

Whew - Got it!

I figured there must be some way, but searching for the post number didn't work. Thanks!

I would also vote for showing images w/o having to sign up.

The ability to come and lurk and see what people were doing was one of the major deciding factors that led me to decide to build and subsequently sign up and contribute.

I think having to sign up just to take a look would be a deterrent to more than it would be an incentive.

That, and the fact that I have friends and family that have no interest in participating, but would like to keep up with my build.

I'm +1 on images being visible w/o sign in.
(Okay, so this is not a democracy, so "vote" may not be an appropriate word, but you get the idea.) :D

That's the mode I currently have it set in. Try browsing a while without logging in. Especially note the photos that you can see.

What are your thoughts...

Don't much care for the "phppb Gallery by nickevergessen" tag that has been added to my earlier images.

And while I'm at it, I much prefer to have the medium sized images directly in my thread, rather than the automatically downsized yet click-able images in the later posts (having to click on to see the image larger, then "back" to return to the thread), but I certainly don't mean to complain about the forum in general. I think this whole endeavor is awesome. Just trying to give my perspective as a constructive input.

If the tag and smaller images are technical necessities, then I guess that is better than the alternative of having to sign on or no forum at all. I'm signed up already (obviously), so I'm mostly just considering other viewers.

While we're on the subject, what's with the people with the over sized images in their own screen where you have to use the sliders to see the whole image. I don't see that as much of an improvement over having to scroll the whole screen (except, I suppose that the following posts are not as wide, so I guess that is somewhat of an improvement).
