Walls will hopefully be up by the end of spring break week, which starts next Friday.

But things just got a lot more interesting because this morning we made an offer on a 25' Cape Dory sailboat, and it was accepted. We should close the deal on Sunday. And it's a restoration project. (Are there any other kind of sailboats?) So......as my dear friend Dolly Parton would say, "I am going to be so busy I won't know whether to scratch my watch or wind my a$$..." (Your imagination will have to provide the hillbilly twang.)

Thanks Cliff. We ended up not getting the sailboat. Another inspection revealed problems that were beyond what we really wanted to deal with considering all the other stuff we have going.

Thanks Larry. I'm going to try and pull some pictures over from my blog and get them here on my build journal, just to keep the documentation trail on this site complete as well. I am so anxious to see those walls standing, but I am trying hard to resist the urge to rush anything. If only I could just stay home and work on it. This working for a living thing isn't all it's cracked up to be.

The walls look great! You're almost to the point where you can stand them. That's when you'll feel as if you've got this teardrop construction thing licked!

Thank you for the epoxy tutorial too. For those like me, who never had done any epoxy work before, epoxying seems like some sort of weird alchemy performed by wizards. Your pictures and others are helping to mystify this process.

Actually, Paul, what I am really getting tired of is picking them up and moving them in and out of the garage. It will be nice when they have a set of wheels under them. Then I'll change that picture in the profile. Soon I hope..............

I am really happy to report that my walls are finally up and there is something resembling a teardrop sitting in my garage tonight. I am getting optimistic now about possibly getting to camp in my teardrop this year.







It was a great weekend. Happy happy girl.

I will be updating my blog site within the next couple of days with more boring details than most people would care to read if anyone is interested.

(And true to my word, Paul, my signature picture has changed!!)

Thanks Sharon. It feels good to have something that actually is starting to look like a teardrop.

It's funny you should say it looks roomy. One of my friends at work today remarked that "it's a lot bigger than I thought it would be." It must have been the angle on the dangle with my camera because it's only 4' 8" wide x 9' 2" long. Not too much bigger than a standard 4x8. It will be interesting to see how big it appears hooked up behind the Jeep. I've been meaning to ask you....how long did it take you to build "My Away" ?
