OK, now that I'm "qualified" to include pictures that others can actually see, I forgot to mention that the bumper pulls out 30"and I can carry a light motorcycle on it. Here is a pic of the assembly before I welded it into the frame:

bobhenry. how do you keep the curtain store away bar or the curtain pvc pipe from sliding out going down the road or highway.

If you look real close Slow you will see it rests on the porch light ( a happy accident not good planning).

If you look even closer you will see a little black elastic bolo tie holding it in place while on the road.

Bob, I love that idea! 2 questions...how do you keep water from leaking between the pipes and sleeves, for instance if you are traveling in a torrential rainstorm? And also, on the inside, do you have flanges or something on the ends of the pipes to keep them from pulling all the way out accidentally?

I have done a similar sliding tube thing on the bottom of my teardrop to attach the ezee-up to if we are forced to camp on a hard surface, so it won't blow away???

Here is my little cleaver mod I thought up on a trip in May this year.

First there is the hatch latch. Nothing wrong with it but it is where it begins.



Now for what I call. "My squigles" Made of copper coated gas welding rod. No idea what diameter, it is what I usually have around. Use what ever is handy, can be bent and still take what happens in the end.



Open hatch and hook squigles in the latches, both sides if you wish.



And here is the whole point of the squigles.



Haven't really used it yet camping but I think it will be handy and weight almost nothing and little packing space.

Folks have made nice comments about our portable gas grill that hangs on a rail on the side of our teardrop.

Another design feature we devised was the use of fabric in the kitchen instead of cabinet doors. I made the door covers and attached them to the outside of the cabinet with turn buttons. We turn the buttons and flip up the fabric to get to all our kitchenware. In small teardrops the cabinet doors can not be opened with stuff on the counters. This is a good solution to the problem. This also make a teardrop's weigh less.

• I've got two new mods (is it really a mod when the initial build is still underway?) just added. The first was a sliding swivel mount for my generator (eventually to power lights/ac/and recharge batteries). Locks in place both stored and in operating position(s). I also have a lightweight brace to mount under it to further dampen vibrations (already rubber mounted).

• The second mod was a set of frame mounted stabilizers, made from pipe clamps and 3/4" pipe components. Locks in raised position for travel, then simply drops down to whatever depth needed to stabilize the rear of trailer from tipping or rocking. Clever or not?, I can't say, but done for cheap in the industrial/automotive/what-have-you motif of my build.

• Note: just noticed a month after building pipe clamp stabilizers (haven't been near it for that long)...the pipe clamps are mounted upside down in this picture; they lock in the up position, not down...oops...rectified that and tested, they will sustain 1200 lbs weight now.

We have been happy so far with my under-head storage mod. My wife and I can fit at least 5 days of summer clothes in it.
