Batteries in parrallel will result in the total capacity added by the figures of the batteries. An example: if you put two 50 amp hour batteries in parrallel, you would then have 100 amp hours of capacity, assuming the two batteries are good and of equal age. If you put two 50 AH 12 V batteries in series, you would then have a 50 AH 24 Volt system.
