I believe it will increase the time before the battery discharges. I'm not sure how the numbers would work out but we would hook two battery packs in parallel on our RC planes for longer run times on the slope.

Batteries in parrallel will result in the total capacity added by the figures of the batteries. An example: if you put two 50 amp hour batteries in parrallel, you would then have 100 amp hours of capacity, assuming the two batteries are good and of equal age. If you put two 50 AH 12 V batteries in series, you would then have a 50 AH 24 Volt system.

Be careful about the wiring

Dear Bandit,

George Telford on this forum posted the correct way to connect batteries in Parallel. Check it out because it corrected a lot of bad info that had previouslybeen posted. It was about two months ago.

I will be running 2 120Ah batteries. They will be mounted in the tongue. I have Sleep Apnea & require a C-PAP when I sleep. A single battery will last 5 night of sleep. I hope be able to camp for a week using 2 batteries.

Hey all, new TD junkie here (but yet to own). I think I have some pricing info for those asking for it.

http://www.batterystore.com/

click on "Hawker" and then select the "Genesis" series. Prices could be worse. But free is always for me. Hope this info helps. Be sure to look at the application manual & the Selection guide (both in PDF).

Our (the wife and I) quick TD junkie story. We stopped by an RV dealership on the way home from church last Sunday (3-12-06). We really liked the 16' Bambi Air Streams, but found the price tag a tad bit out of our reach (like from California to China out of our reach). So I was doing my usual Sunday night web browsing and found the TDs. The hook was set. I found many companies with very likable setups, but still kinda high on the price tag. This was further compounded by the setups not being exactly what the wife and I were looking for. So we find ourselves looking at some steel to build a frame. The wife loves to help with these kind of projects and I love having her by my side doing so. So here we are. Best part is the ability to put the TD in the garage.

Blessings,

Dawn & Matthew

Battery find . . . .

Postby rooster » Thu Mar 16, 2006 5:02 pm

Welcome, Dawn and Matthew to T&TTT home of nutty funny people who build teardrops. There is no wrong or dumb questions to ask and there is always several answers to choose from. Most of us started just like your doing, getting ideas and yes, when the hook is set there's no getting away . . . .

Welcome to the mayhem you two, ask all the questions you need answered. But you had better be ready for some not so serious answers at times. Have fun with the planning scheming and starting.
Cheers

Jim/Paul,

Thanks for the welcome. I'm sure I am in for some fun times with all the folks I've been reading on here. As for the jokes, I'm all about some good puns and corny humor.
After I change the oil in the truck tomorrow morning, the wife and I are headed to So-Cal teardrops in Ontario, CA. The wife wants to check them out and see them first hand.
