My paternal grampa went to Alaska in the 50's on a logging crew and brought back pics and stories of such a beautiful place. My Dad wanted to make the trip for many years, but when he was diagnosed with terminal cancer in 2000, I tried to send him on an Alaskan cruise. He told me he was too sick to enjoy it and to save my money and take the trip my self, I promised him that I would. My wife and I planned to go last year after she was to retire, I lost her to cancer in '09. She made me promise to still make the trip. So, I'm running a year behind, but I'm going

I'll be "camping" in parking lots and out of the way spots to avoid having to pay campground fees as one way to be able to afford this trip.
