I went to another Estate Auction today and found a 242B dated 12 6:

Cost $30.


I thought that the other lantern's price would be out of sight:

Nope cost $20.
I guess some days you just get lucky.

Those are both great finds and given what is happening on e-bay anymore, you did well on them. Gone are the days of real bargains on the bay. What's nice on the Quiklite is that you also got the pump and it's got mantles hanging on it so it's probably been used not all that long ago. Some polish and a quick cleaning on that one and it's a runner. The original globe on the 242 makes it a real deal. You can get the vent redone for under 25$ I believe. With that done and a polish on it...that's a great lantern! Doug

You did good. I sure would like to find a nickel fount 242 someday. But I do hope i find it in the wild. I don't need anymore quick fixes from the thiefbay
