I like it.

It would make a cool rear entry full fendered trailer!

It looks like a bunch of people looked at this but did not comment, Is this not a good trailer to build a camper on? I am a newbie so I have no idea. I am going to go look at it today

Thanks

There may be a lot of hesitation, as teardrops are the main focus here, and that setup instantly throws up a roadblock because the fenders are in the way of a typical teardrop door(s).

Having tandem axles is a bit overkill, but it has been done.
With the look you have now, a low swoopy shape to compliment the fenders would look really good, but probably wouldn't look like a typical teardrop.

If you were thinking about buying the trailer and tossing the fenders and extra axle, it would be okay for a typical teardrop, but you may be better off in the long run to have a custom frame built to suit your plans/size, instead of the other way around.
It can get expensive very quickly trying to modify a frame to fit a trailer.

I kinda’ like the fact the bed is so low to the ground... 8) ... and being tandem , couldn’t you run smaller wheels to get even lower (within reason of course) ... ???

If you already own it , then build something on it ( “Use what ya’ got!!!” ) ... a Foamie perhaps would be quick and even removable ...

Couple more cross braces wouldn’t hurt either ... :o

Looks like an old horse trailer frame with drop axels, probable 3500 pound axels.
Definatly great for a rear entry build as Rob said.
Should track well.
And from the look of the framing, you could go two level, bed/couch up front where the frame rails are on top, and extra few inches headroom at back where frame rails to the bottom
If it ain't broke, fix it till it is

thanks guys it is an old horse trailer

it's very cheap this is why I am looking at it. it has two drop axles so it's low to the ground already.

I was thinking I could build some modified version of the Wandere 10 on it and yes have a door in the back.

Yes I have looked at this a few times I think you can do 2 builds with this trailer or a big single trailer. Looks like you could build your bed crossways up front. There is lots you could do with this trailer. My vote is go for it and have fun.
